For students who have at a basic working knowledge of Chinese
and need to practice conversational Chinese in order to maintain or improve their
fluency.
You will work one-on-one with your
native speaking tutor, starting with a few conversations. Your tutor
will note where you may need extra attention and work with you on these areas.
Your personal tutor will use established texts, our own original
material, and items in general circulation from the media as basis for conversation. Your tutor
will work with you on new words and phrases as well as pronunciation, vocabulary,
sentence structure and daily common usage.
Your sessions will cover
a wide range of topics. You may direct the topics into areas you prefer or need
to practice on. We also have a broad selection of conversational topics that can be covered,
from personal conversations to social and business situations.
Before each class your tutor will email you any new material that
will be covered as subjects
of conversation. Your tutor will go over all new words, work with you on pronunciation,
and practice using sentences and conversation.
Your tutor will help you perfect your pronunciation, help you understand
the new words in conversation, and answer questions you have.
New material will be tied together with previous sessions to expand your
knowledge, understanding, and fluency.
These sessions are designed for students who have a background in speaking Chinese
and wish to retain or expand their fluency.
